Can I add storage to the Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 3S, or Meta Quest Pro?
The short answer: not easily.
While you might hope a device like the Meta Quest would support microSD cards for easy storage upgrades and future-proofing, that's just not the case on any of the Quests released so far.
Some clever tinkerers have figured out how to replace the device's internal storage to increase capacity, but it's not a simple operation — you're effectively tearing the device down to its core and replacing the entire motherboard with one pulled from another Quest.
These parts can be tricky to source and cost $50-$150+ depending on the model in question. In most cases it's about as much as buying the device with more storage to begin with, plus the hassle and risk of cracking open your headset. It might make sense if you're already tinkering in there for other reasons, but a practical way to DIY your way to savings it is not.
